Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of household accounting in family financial management  using a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. This study was conducted in  the Pangaritan area, Panyileukan District, Bandung City, involving five housewife informants  from various educational and work backgrounds. This research explores four main aspects:  budgeting, record-keeping, decision-making, and long-term planning. The results of the study  show that household accounting helps housewives in controlling expenses and planning  finances  better.  However,  some  informants  face  obstacles  in  recording  and  planning  consistency. This study emphasizes the importance of applying household accounting regularly  to support family welfare. The study also recommends further studies that consider cultural  perspectives to enrich the findings in a broader context.
